Trainor’s paintings represent a pure dialogue between human and nature, cause and effect. With pattern, scale and an abbreviated palette, they speak to opposing forces that can be both beautiful and overwhelmingly jarring, layered with distinct character. 

As a gardener and landscape designer, Trainor has been collaborating with and observing nature for 30 years. In his paintings he explores the emotional, conceptual and physical intersections of change over time in the land around him, and raises essential questions about our place in the world and the evidence of human existence in our natural environment.
