When first walking the site we were presented with eleven acres of native oaks, pines, wildflowers and grasses. It seemed to us there was one logical design option: reveal the intrinsic beauty of the site. The architecture and landscape represent contemporary rural California. The horse barn, stables and pastures thread through the otherwise undisturbed site.
By integrating materials such as concrete, glass, stone, and steel, the built environment takes on a sculptural form amidst the untamed oaks. Our restoration plantings are indistinguishable from the healthy native flora. This project embodies our commitment to ecologically sustainable landscapes, specific to the particular region.
